Disney+ Streaming Service Launches in Late 2019

We have known for quite some time now that Disney is planning on launching its own streaming service, and now a few more key details have been revealed.

Disney+ Streaming Service Launches in Late 2019

Disney+ is Disney's streaming platform

CNBC is reporting on Thursday that Disney’s planned streaming service will be called “Disney+”, and that it will be launching sometime in the latter half of 2019. The company hasn’t nailed down an exact launch date just yet, so we don’t have anything to circle on the calendar. These revelations were delivered by Disney CEO Bob Iger during the company’s latest earnings call.

The new streaming service will feature a ton of content. It will have the standard Disney fare on there, from animated movies to live action fare, and there will also be plenty of new, original content as well. The streaming service will also be home to Marvel content. And we will also see properties from Fox (which Disney acquired particular studios for the tune of $71.3 billion) as well.

That includes new spin-off shows from movies like Star Wars: Rogue One, which will see the return of Diego Luna’s character from that film, Cassian Andor, headline a standalone TV show. There will also new new episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, one of the most anticipated revivals for animated shows to date.

There’s plenty more, including a spin-off series starring Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki within the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. And other ventures as well:

“Other original shows and movies include a rebooted version of The High School Musical franchise. It will also be a hub for animated content, including the next season of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and an new original animated series based on Pixar’s “Monsters Inc.” Exclusive movies include “Noel,” a Christmas movie about Santa’s daughter played by Anna Kendrick, and “Togo,” a movie about the 1925 Nome Serum Run starring William DaFoe.”

Something else interesting: It won’t be like Netflix insofar that Disney+ just dumps all the content into one place. Instead, it sounds like we’ll see five (or six) services in one, with each brand getting its own microsite within Disney+ as a whole, each with its own unique UI. So, if you want to find Star Wars content, there’s a dedicated place for that. Same with Marvel, Disney, Pixar, and National Geographic. Fox would more than likely get its own microsite as well. This info was shared on Twitter by TV reporter Josef Adalian:

Disney+ will do what Netflix doesn't: Its app will have microsites within it devoted to various brands: Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Nat Geo and Disney. And each of those brand sites will have different user interfaces. So: 5 services in 1?

— TVMoJoe (@TVMoJoe) November 8, 2018

Disney’s streaming service will also mean that the company is going to pull its content off what is obviously a major competitor, Netflix. We’ve reported previously that Netflix has been in talks with the streaming platform to keep content for Netflix subscribers, but that doesn’t appear to be what’s going to happen. Disney’s deal with Netflix to stream content ends in 2019, and with Disney+ launching at the same time, well, that content would help stock that library right out of the gate.

Now we just need to wait and see how much Disney+ is going to cost on a monthly basis.

The Successor to Vine is Called Byte and it Launches in 2019

It has been a while now since Twitter acquired the looping video service Vine and then subsequently shut it down. But the co-creator of that original effort is back with a new app.

Byte is the Vine replacement you've been waiting forThe successor to Vine, what was one of the most popular apps out there before its untimely demise, is called Byte, and it is created by the co-creator of Vine, Dom Hofmann. This is actually not the first time we’ve heard about this new creation. What was formerly known as “Vine version 2”, or simply “v2”, is how this all started. However, back in November of last year it was reported that v2 had been delayed indefinitely, suggesting we may never see Hofmann’s new Vine replacement.

The reasons for that indefinite delay were many, including Hofmann’s day job, funding, and more. But it looks like funding, at the very least, has been figured out, because things are now moving forward. According to Hofmann we will see the new app, now called Byte, launch in the spring of next year.

Unfortunately that’s all we know about this upcoming app, as far as a release date is concerned. No specific date to circle on the calendar just yet. Still, as a successor to Vine, we should expect to see a platform that allows for short, looping videos.

It will be interesting to see how this impacts another super popular app right now, TikTok. As we reported recently, this app has been downloaded a lot of times. Though, it is worth noting that TikTok isn’t necessarily a Vine replacement, so maybe we can live in a time where both apps are wildly successful and popular.

Apple Releases macOS 10.14.1 Mojave Supplemental Update for MacBook Air(2018)

MacBook Air 2018 Features 1
Apple launched the brand new MacBook Air with Retina display earlier this week (the reviews are positive!), and now the company has followed that with a software update for the new hardware.
Apple Releases macOS 10.14.1 Mojave Supplemental Update for MacBook Air(2018)

On Thursday, Apple released a supplemental update for macOS 10.14.1 Mojave, specifically for the new 13.3-inch MacBook Air (2018). It’s available as a direct download from the source link below, or it can be downloaded and installed as a free over-the-air (OTA) update on supported machines beginning today. Here is how Apple describes the update:

“The macOS Mojave 10.14.1 Supplemental Update improves the stability and reliability of MacBook Air (2018) computers and is recommended for all users.”

The new software measures in at 1.3GB, so it may take some time to download and install. As is par for the course with these supplemental updates for specific machines, this isn’t a broad update for all MacBooks out there. Apple released that update, macOS 10.14.1 Mojave, to the public not too long ago. And Apple is currently in the process of beta testing the desktop operating systems’ next (minor) update, macOS 10.14.2, right now

iFixit Teardown of New MacBook Air Reveals ‘Straightforward to Access’Parts, but Repairability Score Remains Low

iFixit tears down the new MacBook Air
The fine folks over at iFixit have wrapped up their full teardown of the brand new 13.3-inch MacBook Air with Retina display, revealing all the nuts and bolts (and adhesive) putting together Apple’s newest laptop.

As is par for the course, the tear down process is not a guide to actually repair the device, even though a repair-ability score is provided by the end. Still, if you are curious how everything underneath the hood is put together, and whether or not you’ll have an easier job repairing the device yourself, these tear downs can be a fantastic resource.
iFixit Teardown of New MacBook Air Reveals ‘Straightforward to Access’Parts, but Repairability Score Remains Low
Some good news to start: Early reports that the battery can be replaced individually in the new MacBook Air are indeed true!

iFixit Teardown of New MacBook Air Reveals ‘Straightforward to Access’Parts, but Repairability Score Remains Low

iFixit’s teardown reveals that many of the parts in the new MacBook Air are modular and pretty “straightforward to access”, which includes the speakers, the fan, and ports. As for that battery, the teardown revealed that it “is secured with a combination of screws and repair-friendly stretch-release adhesive”, but that the logic board and the speakers still need to be removed to access it. The logic board will also have to be removed if the Force Touch trackpad needs to be repaired or replaced, too:

“Unlike the newer MacBooks Pro, which have first-step replaceable trackpads, this trackpad shares a cable with the keyboard, which is pinned under the logic board.”

iFixit Teardown of New MacBook Air Reveals ‘Straightforward to Access’Parts, but Repairability Score Remains Low

The new third-generation butterfly keyboard is integrated into the top case, which means there needs to be a full replacement if a repair is necessary. The RAM and built-in storage options are also soldered into place and non-serviceable. Whether or not that’s a deal breaker at this point, even for a laptop that starts at $1,200, will be wholly based on the individual’s preferences.

At the end of the day, the publication gave the new MacBook Air with Retina display a repairability score of 3 out of 10, with 10 being the easiest to repair. So, while Apple did make some changes to make things a bit easier, it’s still not a great score.

The full teardown can be found through the source link below, and, as usual, it’s definitely worth a look.

Are you planning on picking up the new MacBook Air? If you do, be sure to let us know in the comments what you think of the brand new laptop.

How to Upgrade RAM on 2018 Mac mini in 11 Easy Steps

Mac mini RAM Upgrade
When Apple first unveiled its 2018 refreshed Mac mini lineup last month, it highlighted the fact that it came with SO-DIMM RAM. This meant that the RAM was not soldered on the mainboard and that user replacement/upgrade was possible.
How to Upgrade RAM on 2018 Mac mini in 11 Easy Steps

The Mac mini uses DDR4-2666 SO-DIMM which one can easily get from Amazon or any other retailer. Upgrading the RAM manually is going to be a far cheaper route than asking Apple to do the same as the latter will charge users a premium of anywhere between $300 to $500 additional just for upgrading the RAM.

If you plan on buying the 2018 Mac mini and upgrading the RAM yourself, iFixit has now published an 11-step guide which shows how to upgrade the memory on it. The detailed guide should make it easier for anyone looking to upgrade the memory of their Mac mini now or down the line. The process is relatively easy, with iFixit ranking the difficulty as “Easy” and saying the time taken for the whole process will be around 10 minutes.

To upgrade the RAM on your 2018 Mac mini, you will have to slide out the logic board from the housing. This is a delicate process as it requires one to disconnect various antenna cables and connectors on the logic board. You will also have to remove the cooling fan during the process.

If you have ever upgraded the RAM or HDD/SSD of your previous Mac mini, you will find the steps to be remarkably similar. If you are new to the whole process though, follow the iFixit guide closely and make sure to have access to all the tools beforehand. And if you are still not confident enough of doing the job yourself, you can always take your Mac mini to a third-party repair shop who will charge you a small fee for the upgrade.

iOS 12.1 Jailbreak On iPhone XS Max Demoed

iPhone Xs Max front
Liang Chen of Keen Lab has posted a photo on Twitter confirming that he has managed to jailbreak an iPhone XS Max running iOS 12.1. This is the first known jailbreak of iOS 12.1 running on an iPhone XS Max.
iOS 12.1 Jailbreak On iPhone XS Max Demoed

Before you get your hopes too high, Leen Lab is not known for releasing its jailbreak to the public so don’t expect a public iOS 12.1 jailbreak anytime soon. They will probably sell their jailbreak to the highest bidder or a private company for millions of dollars.

As his tweet mentions, Liang will be demonstrating this jailbreak at POC 2018 this Friday.

iOS 12.1 + A12 == the end of iOS war? I will be presenting at POC 2018 this Friday with latest iPhone XS Max pwn. @vangelis_at_POC @keen_lab https://t.co/lCtc1z3p4h pic.twitter.com/XWLDs24zIf

— Liang Chen (@chenliang0817) November 6, 2018

While jailbreak fans will be disappointed that Keen Lab will not be making this jailbreak public, it does make it clear that it is possible to jailbreak iOS 12.1. What remains unknown is when another jailbreaker or developers finds an exploit to jailbreak iOS 12.1 and releases it to the public.

Usually, exploits used for any possible jailbreak for an iOS version so early into its release cycle is kept secret by jailbreakers and developers. They either sell it to a private company for profit or continue to sit on it for months before releasing a jailbreak tool to the public right when a new iOS release is around the corner.

Are you still looking forward to jailbreaking your iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, or iPhone XR? Or have you given up on the jailbreaking scene completely frustrated by the lack of jailbreaks?

Apple Seeds macOS 10.14.2 Mojave Beta 2 to Developers [Updated: iOS, tvOS, and watchOS, too!]

Best macOS Mojave Features

Apple launched the latest major update to macOS Mojave recently, and now the company is preparing the next software update for the desktop OS.

Update: Apple today also seeded the second developer betas of iOS 12.1.1 and tvOS 12.1.1. The iOS developer beta is available as a standard OTA update for registered developers, or it can be downloaded and installed from Apple’s official developer portal. tvOS 12.1.1 can be downloaded via a profile with Xcode.

Meanwhile, Apple also seeded the first developer beta of watchOS 5.1.2. To update, the Apple Watch must be connected to its charger, have at least 50% battery life, and it also must be connected to an iPhone.

The new developer betas are available now.

The original article continues below.

Today, Apple seeded the second developer beta of macOS 10.14.2 Mojave. This is prerelease software designed specifically for developers to test while in the beta stages, to prepare for the upcoming public launch of the same software. It’s available now as a free download for developers who have already registered their supported macOS devices. It can be downloaded and installed from the Software Update option within the System Preferences. It can also be downloaded by way of the official Developer Center.

As far as what’s new, it is likely that this new software update will not host any new major forward-facing features for the end user. Instead, as the version number suggests, this is a minor update that is meant to address any issues that have cropped up since the public launch of macOS 10.14.1. That will more than likely include general bug squashing and performance improvements.

macOS 10.14.1 saw the arrival of new emoji, as well as support for the Group FaceTime feature. With Group FaceTime, macOS Mojave users can talk with up to 32 people at once.

If any major new additions are discovered within the latest macOS Mojave beta, we will update this post accordingly.

GigSky Now Supports eSIM Support for iPhone XS and iPhone XR

GigSky adds eSIM support with iPhone XS and iPhone XR
When Apple launched iOS 12.1, it welcomed the addition of dual SIM support by way of the company’s eSIM feature within its newest iPhones.
GigSky Now Supports eSIM Support for iPhone XS and iPhone XR

And while that feature is not ready to go for the major wireless carriers in the United States, other network options are giving the green light to the feature. Today, for instance, the short-term data allowance network, GigSky, has updated its iOS app to support the eSIM functionality within the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR. Here’s the app’s changelog, which also includes some unspecified improvements to the user interface and general bug fixes:

Support for eSIM on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.
UI improvements and Bug fixes.

GigSky is designed to offer up limited-time access to a mobile network so you don’t have to rely on your primary network or finding a WiFi connection. You can buy data access in “North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America/Caribbean, Middle East/Africa or an individual country” within the GigSky app (there is a link to download the app at the bottom of this article).

And here is how it works on Apple’s newest iPhones:

Requires iOS 12.1 or later.
Download the app and add a cellular data only plan
Create an account and pay with Apple Pay or add a payment method.
Built in data connectivity on Dual SIM will activate the eSIM “cellular data only” plan
Data bundles allow data use in multiple countries or an individual country.
Flexible pay-as-you-go plans for daily use or to use for up to 30 days.
No contracts, monthly recurring charges, or subscriptions required.

Is dual SIM support a feature you’re eagerly anticipating support from your wireless network of choice?

Samsung Unveils its First Foldable Smartphone [Updated: Demo Video]

Samsung unveils its first foldable smartphone
What has been rumored and teased for years now is finally, officially official, and with it welcomes the next major design cue for smartphones.
Samsung Unveils its First Foldable Smartphone [Updated: Demo Video]

The first foldable smartphone wasn’t made by Samsung, that goes to a company with a much smaller footprint than Samsung, but this here marks the first major turning point for what will likely be a major design cue for smartphones moving forward. The Verge has the first clear look at Samsung’s foldable smartphone, which, at the time of publication, doesn’t have an official name just yet.
Samsung Unveils its First Foldable Smartphone [Updated: Demo Video]

Samsung actually dimmed the lights on the stage to hide some of the design elements of the upcoming device, even though it appears to be a prototype and several elements of the physical design may change in the future. We can see the device folds out into a tablet-style with a larger main display, and then folds into a candybar-like style when closed. That bigger display measures in at 7.3 inches, with the cover display quite a bit smaller.
Samsung Unveils its First Foldable Smartphone [Updated: Demo Video]

With what Samsung calls “multi active window” future owners of the foldable phone will be able to run three apps at the same time. That foldable display is being called the “Infinity Flex Display” in a “matter of months”, but that’s all we know about a potential launch date. The company isn’t confirming a release date for the foldable phone just yet.

Samsung is not the only company working on foldable phones. LG is rumored to be launching its own device in early 2019 (Samsung’s own device is expected to arrive sometime early next year as well). Intel is working on support for dual-screen devices as well. And then there is Microsoft, with the oft-rumored project “Andromeda” which features a pocketable dual-screen surface device.

And, of course, there are patent applications that point to a future where there may even be foldable iPhones.

Here’s the video of the Samsung foldable phone demo from the event:

Take an In-Depth Look at the New A12X Bionic in the iPad Pro

Whether or not the new iPad Pro can replace your laptop is still far from a consensus, but what reviews of the new tablet all agree on is just how powerful the device is.
Take an In-Depth Look at the New A12X Bionic in the iPad Pro

That comes courtesy of the brand new A12X Bionic processor that Apple tucked inside the remarkably thin case. This is an evolutionary step over the A12 Bionic processor that the company introduced with the iPhone XS, XS Max, and the iPhone XR, but the changes that Apple made for the larger-screened device are striking, to say the least. Apple, in its own efforts to promote the device, says the new tablet is more powerful than 92 percent of the personal computers on the market right now.

So how did the company get there? Well, let Apple’s Anand Shimpi and Phil Schiller take an in-depth look at the processor courtesy of Ars Technica. The publication hits on just about everything you would want to see in this sort of deep dive, including a top-down look at the CPU itself, Geekbench scores, inspection of the graphics performance, and looking at the improved Neural Engine therein.

“The iPad Pro’s CPU has eight cores—four focused on performance, and four focused on efficiency. And unlike some earlier Apple chips, all cores can be active at once. This is the first device in this product line that uses this many cores simultaneously.

‘We’ve got our own custom-designed performance controller that lets you use all eight at the same time,’ Shimpi told Ars. ‘And so when you’re running these heavily-threaded workloads, things that you might find in pro workflows and pro applications, that’s where you see the up to 90 percent improvement over A10X.'”

As far as the graphics performance is concerned, Apple told the world that their new tablet is on the same level as the Xbox One S, which is a video game console that Microsoft has on the market right now.

“It’s or first 7-core implementation of our own custom-designed GPU,” he said. “Each one of these cores is both faster and more efficient than what we had in the A10X and the result is, that’s how you get to the 2x improved graphics performance. It’s unheard of in this form factor, this is really an Xbox One S class GPU. And again, it’s in a completely fanless design.”

How about competition in the chips market, which is only just starting to build up. But none of that matters, because, according to Schiller, Apple will “lap them ten times” in results as long as it means that the customers continue to benefit from what Apple is working on.

“We don’t care if they’re doing something that isn’t interesting to us. We don’t care if we’re lapping them. Good. We’ll lap them ten times. It doesn’t matter because it’s in service to the user, not the competition.”

The full in-depth look at the new A12X Bionic processor is ready for your eyeballs through the source link below, and it’s certainly worth checking out.

Are you planning on picking up the new iPad Pro?

You Will Have 10 Minutes to Unsend a Message in Upcoming FacebookMessenger Feature

Facebook Messenger 4 is now rolling out
Facebook Messenger is one of the more popular messaging platforms out there, and sometimes a user might run into a situation where a sent message might not be the best possible text to send in that moment.
You Will Have 10 Minutes to Unsend a Message in Upcoming FacebookMessenger Feature

Unfortunately, the platform doesn’t support an “unsend” feature. Yet. We reported back in October that the company was indeed working on the feature, though, and that some lucky folks out there in the wild were already testing it ahead of a potential public launch. Unfortunately, at the time, it wasn’t known if the feature would actually see the light of day for the masses. But it looks like Facebook Messenger is gearing up for its arrival.

The official landing page for the Facebook Messenger app for iOS has the upcoming unsend feature listed under “coming soon”. It also goes into a bit of detail as to what Messenger users should expect out of the feature. Specifically, they will have up to 10 minutes to unsend that message they don’t want someone else to see:

“Coming soon: Remove a message from a chat thread after it’s been sent. If you accidentally send the wrong photo, incorrect information or message the wrong thread, you can easily correct it by removing the message within ten minutes of sending it.”

While 10 minutes might seem like awhile, compare that to WhatsApp (also owned by Facebook) and its 1 hour deadline to unsend a message and it seems pretty short! Still, 10 minutes should be a realistically long enough time to make a decision and either keep the sent message or delete it before the other person can see it (or just to delete it for posterity purposes).

Earlier this year, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and the company itself found itself in some hot water (some things never change?) when it was discovered some of the CEO’s messages sent in Messenger had been deleted from recipients’ inboxes.

That was seen as a pretty big issue considering Facebook Messenger doesn’t have an “unsend” feature built into it, readily available for general users. But a day after that all went down back in April and the company announced it would indeed be building a feature into Messenger, and that it would be available for all users. Since then, Facebook has been pretty quiet on the subject.

In related news, Facebook Messenger is also still rolling out that major redesign to its UI, which includes adding a dark mode, a more minimal design aesthetic with fewer tabs, and more. That was announced a little while ago, but Facebook is still rolling it out to users across the globe. If you don’t already have the new Facebook Messenger experience, you should get it “soon”.

The 25 Best iPad Pro (2018) Tips and Tricks

2018 iPad Pro Tips and Tricks Featured
The 2018 iPad Pro is a big departure from every iPad that came before it. The Home button is gone, and so is Touch ID. You get edge-to-edge screen with Face ID, a new Smart Keyboard Folio and an Apple Pencil that’s not frustrating to charge or store.
The 25 Best iPad Pro (2018) Tips and Tricks

This means that you’ll need to spend some time getting used to all the new features. There’s a whole new gesture interface to learn, and little features to master. But don’t worry, we’ve got your back.
1. Tap to Wake
Just tap on the iPad screen to wake it up.
2. Swipe Up to Unlock with Face ID
The Verge goes hands-on with the new iPad Pro
And as soon as you tap on the screen, Face ID will start looking for your face. Adjust your face so it lines up with the iPad screen and your iPad should unlock.

There’s no Home button anymore. Just swipe up from the bottom of the screen to unlock the iPad.
3. Swipe Up Again to Rescan with Face ID
Face ID will work most of the times, but sometimes, in weird angles, it still fails. Don’t worry. You don’t need to enter your passcode every time this happens. If you’re confident that your face is lined up correctly, just swipe up again to get a second try.
4. Double Tap Space Bar to Unlock
The new Smart Keyboard Folio for the 2018 iPad Pro
If you’ve got the Smart Keyboard Folio attached, you don’t even need to touch the screen to unlock your iPad. Just double tap the Spacebar, look at the screen and boom, you’re in.

5. Use Face ID Unlock in Any Direction
The Face ID system is in the top bezel when you’re holding it in portrait mode. But the TrueDepth camera is smart enough to figure out your face no matter which direction you hold it in. Landscape mode will work and so will using the iPad upside done. When the camera is in the bottom, iPad will prompt you to look down to unlock the iPad.

6. Swipe Up to Middle of the Screen for App Switcher
iOS 12 iPad App Switcher
To get to the App Switcher, you swipe up from the bottom, till the middle of the screen. Make sure it’s a swipe and not a flick or you’ll end up closing the app or bringing up the Dock.

7. Short Swipe up for the Dock
To reveal the Dock, you now swipe up just a bit, like two inches and pause for a sec. This will bring up the Dock. I’ll admit, this is not an easy gesture to get used to. And it’s possible that you might never get used to it. To ease the pain, you can use a keyboard shortcut to bring up the Dock: Cmd + Option + D.

8. Top-Right Edge Swipe for Control Center
iOS 12 iPad New Control Center
To access the Control Center, swipe down from the top-right section of the status bar. Where you see the time and status indicators for Wi-Fi, BlueTooth and more.

9. Use Apps in Split Mode
iOS 11 iPad Split View
One of the best ways to use the iPad is to use apps in split screen mode. When an app is open, just swipe up to bring the Dock, tap and hold on an app, drag the app icon and drop it to the left or the right edge to dock it there. There are a lot more things you can do in Split View.

10. Bring In a Third Floating Apps
iOS 11 iPad Split View
Even when you’re in Split View, you can still bring in a third floating app in Slide Over view. Drag in an app from the Dock and drop it on top of the two active apps. The floating app will stay on top and you can move it to the left or the right. You can dismiss it as well by swiping horizontally off the screen (and bring it back later).

11. Drag and Drop Between Apps
When you’ve got two apps open in Split View, try using Drag and Drop. It’s supported by all Apple apps and a variety of major productivity apps. Drag and Drop lets you select text, images, videos, links and more from one app and drop it in another. If you’re doing some research, you can quickly drag in paragraphs of text and images to a Notes document.

One of the most frustrating things in iOS is using copy and paste. Drag and Drop feature takes care of this annoyance.
12. Swipe Horizontally on Home Bar For Recent Apps
Swipe right horizontally on the big Home bar at the bottom of the screen to quickly access the most recent app. Swipe left and you’re back to the original app. You can use this gesture to quickly go back to the third or fourth most recently used apps.

But remember that if you interact with the app, the sequence resets. So you won’t be able to swipe left to go back to the original app. You’ll have to swipe right.

13. Charge Apple Pencil Magneticall
iPad Pro 2018 Features 6
The 2nd Generation Apple Pencil is how the Apple Pencil should have always been. It doesn’t have the stupid cap anymore, or a Lighting connector.

Just put it on top of the iPad in Landscape mode and it connects to iPad magnetically. And it starts charging it wirelessly. If you keep your Apple Pencil docked like this, it’s always going to be charged and ready to go.

14. Tap Apple Pencil on Screen to Quickly Take Notes
Quickly tap on the iPad screen to automatically wake up the screen and open a blank note in the Notes app. This way, you can quickly start scribbling without the need to navigate the Notes UI.
15. Customize Apple Pencil Buttons in Apps

The Aple Pencil has a gesture pad on the side. And it has two actions – a single tap and a double tap. In Notes app, you can use tap to switch to the erase tool. Best thing is that apps will be able to customize this feature. So if you’re in a creative app, look for the option in the app’s settings.

16. Mirror Your iPad Display with USB-C
iPad Pro 2018 Features 1
You don’t need a dongle, or an Apple TV to mirror your iPad display anymore. Thanks to the USB-C cable. Just get a USB-C to HDMI cable, plug it into the iPad Pro and native screen mirroring will start instantly. The iPad Pro can support up to 5K displays.

17. Connect External Display with Compatible Apps
But that’s not all. If the app is customized for it, the connected display can work as an independent, external display as well. This won’t work for all apps by default though.

But in an app like Keynote, the external display will automatically display the slides while your iPad will show you your presentation notes and a preview of the next slide.
18. Import Photos from Camera and Flash Drives
Sadly, there’s no way to browse or connect external drives to the iPad. Apple has said that third-party apps will be able to include this feature but those apps aren’t here yet.

But what you can do is connect an SD card using a dongle or connect your camera directly to import photos from it (both RAW and JPEG). They’ll be imported directly to the Photos app.

19. Connect Fun and Useful USB-C Accessories

A surprising range of USB-C accessories works with the iPad. You can connect a Microphone to record audio, an ethernet port (with up to 10-gigabit bandwidth). and a flashlight or a little fan. Printers are not yet supported.

20. Charge Your iPhone Using iPad
If you have a USB-C to Lightning cable, you can use it charge your iPhone with the iPad. In fact, it can even charge your Nintendo Switch!
21. Add Another Face to Face ID
You’ll probably share your iPad with your significant other or family members. Doing this with Touch ID was easy because you could add up to 10 fingers. But by default, iPad only allows 1 Face ID authentication.

But there’s a workaround for this. In the Face ID & Passcode section, use the Set Up an Alternative Appearance option to scan another face.

22. View All Keyboard Shortcuts For an App
ipad external keyboard guide 2
Most of the productivity apps on the iPad support keyboard shortcuts and viewing a list of them is pretty easy. Just press and hold the Cmd key on the keyboard.
23. Take Depth Effect Selfies

The iPad Pro comes with a TrueDepth sensor for Face ID. A nice side effect is that you can take Portrait Mode selfies on the iPad Pro. Open the Camera app, flip to the front-facing camera and select Portrait option.

24. Make Your own Memoji Character
iOS 12 Memoji in Camera View 2
The new iPad Pro supports both Animoji and Memoji. Open the Messages app, go to an iMessage conversation and select the Animoji option. Now from the first option, you can build your own Memoji character by selecting the face structure, nose, eyes, hairstyle and glasses that reflect your look.

25. Use Screen Time
iOS 12 Screen Time Section
You’re going to end up spending a lot of time on the iPad. Whether it’s watching Netflix, sketching in Procreate or typing away in Ulysses. Use the new Screen Time feature in iOS 12 to know exactly how much time you spent being productive on a given day. Then you can choose to disable certain apps automatically for time being or put up time limits.

TODAY IS SUNDAY 10th march 2019, I HAVE MESSAGE FOR YOU

Today is Sunday, I wanna let you know that today as long as you believe that the Lord Lives, Every situation you found yourself into, that situation must must be Flushed and taken away in Jesus name!!! Type Amen & share 4times now

DO YOU REMEMBER THIS BREAKING NEWS?
Read it carefully and see that the lord answered the prayers of the people of God. Just read through.
Breaking News😢
Important Notice: To all children of the Prophet
This morning, around 07:00 hrs in the morning armed members of the police stormed Sparkling Waters Hotel in Rustenburg, South Africa.
We were later made aware that they were members of the Directorate for Priority Investigations (HAWKS).

They took the Prophet and our mother Prophetess Mary Bushiri in handcuffs to Pretoria.
They have charged our father with fraud and money laundering.
As you will remember, from last year, we have struggled with reports that our father was guilty. We have repeatedly learnt from different media houses that we were under investigation.
At some point accurate reports pointed out the fact that certain people within the police had demanded bribes amounting up to R10 million.
This is a matter that is on record and well known.
He has been detained and is being questioned by the HAWKS in Silverton, Pretoria.
We will give you more updates as we go.
We would like to encourage our members to be steadfast in prayer. This morning we were vindicated through the CRL after weeks of being painted wrong. We urge you to remember that this too shall pass.

The Best Apps for 2018 iPad Pro

2018 iPad Pro Best Apps Featured

The new iPad Pro has an A12X Bionic, 8-core CPU and 7-core GPU. In benchmarks, it beats some models of the Core i7 MacBook Pro. The new 11-inch and 12.9 inch iPad Pro is a beast. It has a gorgeous screen, an all-new design and an Apple Pencil that’s finally seamless to carry and use.

All this amazing hardware deserves amazing software. While iOS 12 is still nowhere near as extensible as macOS, individual apps are catching up. And in some cases (mostly creative), it’s actually better to use the iPad than to use a MacBook.

If you’ve just got an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil you should install the following apps and really take the new hardware for a spin.

Procreate

If you’ve got an iPad and an Apple Pencil, Procreate is an app you should buy (doesn’t matter if you’re not a creative/artist). You can do so much in this app. You can create complex drawings, illustrations, or just make awesome patterns or mandalas. Procreate is also the best way to do lettering work on the iPad.

There are tons of Procreate resources available online. You’ll find YouTube videos that will teach you to draw just using the Apple Pencil in Procreate, and you can download templates, calligraphy worksheets and more.

Download: Procreate ($9.99)

Pixelmator

Pixelmator is one of the best photo editors on the iPad. It’s not a Photoshop replacement (we’ll get to that in a second), but it’s more than enough for quickly fixing images, and editing them. You’ll find all the standard retouching and editing tools in the app.

Microsoft Outlook

Best Apps iPad Pro 2018 5

Funnily enough, Outlook is the best email app for both iPhone and iPad. It’s feature-rich, reliable, and supports a myriad of email services. The best part about Outlook is its all-in-one approach. You’ll find your inbox, calendar, and files all in the same app. This makes it easy to schedule meetings, set a reminder, attach files and send it all in a nice email to your boss.

Affinity Photo

Affinity Photo is the Photoshop replacement for the iPad (until the real Photoshop shows up in 2019). You get the full photo editing suite on the iPad and on the new 2018 iPad, this app is crazy fast. The app supports limitless layers, masks, blends and everything in between (including more than 120 brushes). Of course, you can use the Apple Pencil to precisely select parts of the image you want to edit. Oh and you can import PSD files to edit on your iPad.

The app supports RAW as well, so you get access to desktop level image editing tools right on your iPad.

Affinity Designer

Affinity Designer is yet another drawing app for the iPad. You can use it to sketch your designs no matter where you are. If Affinity Photo is the Photoshop replacement, then Affinity designer is like using Illustrator on your iPad. You can create artwork in vector. This means you can design any kind of graphics – logos, brochures or posters, right on your iPad.

Use the Apple Pencil to draw directly on the iPad. Then use the available tools to add color, pop and play with shapes to create something truly stunning.

Affinity Designer is a must have if you’re any kind of designer. Even UI designers can use the app to create user interface mockups.

LumaFusion

There’s no Final Cut X on the iPad. But LumaoFusion comes close. It’s the best video editing app available on the iPad and on the new iPad Pro, this thing just flies! Even when editing and exporting 4K footage.

You have multi-track editing so you have three separate tracks for video and audio each. Everything else like transition effects, slow motion, audio mixing, text layers, background music, and trimming is all here.

Autodesk SketchBook

Autodesk has made the full version of their SketchBook app completely free on the iPhone and iPad. This is reason enough to download the app, take your Apple Pencil and just start sketching. You never know where it might lead.

Paper

Best Apps iPad Pro 2018 6

Paper is the a creativity app that is a must-have on the iPad, even if you don’t use your iPad for art. It’s one of the first apps on the iPad that proved how easy and fun it was to just doodle and draw on the screen. And this was ages before the Apple Pencil showed up! Now, you can use Paper to take notes, doodle, create art, and even make graphs and charts.

Paper can serve as a great tool to offload whatever is going on in your mind. You can use templates like a grid paper or an iPhone body to even create UI wireframes for apps. Paper is super extensible.

LiquidText

LiquidText will change how you interact with documents and PDFs. It’s a must-have app for students, researchers, writers, editors and academics alike. The app lets you easily annotate papers, extract parts for taking notes (which you can arrange and control independently).

LiquidText takes the rigid format for a PDF and makes it fluid. Just open a PDF, and start doodling, connecting different parts, taking handwritten notes anymore. You can also open web pages in the app.

Microsoft Office Suite

Best Apps iPad Pro 2018 4

The entire Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are available on the iPad. And if you’re already paying for an Office subscription, you can use the iPad as one of the devices on your account. And almost all features from the desktop apps are available on the iPad, including keyboard shortcuts, cloud sync, templates and more.

Annotable

iCab Mobile

Best Apps iPad Pro 2018 1

Safari on the iPad can be pretty frustrating, especially when the UI changes to the mobile view in split screen mode. And iPad Safari is still mobile safari. iCab Mobile is the closest you can get to a desktop browsing experience on the iPad. You’ll get Chrome-like UI, proper tab management, download manager, inspect tool and more. Plus iCab Mobile has its own version of extensions called Modules. Using the modules you can save web pages as ebooks and even do things that aren’t possible on iOS – like play YouTube videos in a picture-in-picture view.

If you’re serious about being productive on the iPad, you should replace Safari with iCab Mobile.

Good Notes 4

If you’re looking for a feature-rich notes app on the iPad, something that will be worthy of the Apple Pencil, Good Notes is it. You can import any background to work as a sheet of paper that you can write on, or you can choose one of the built-in templates. If you’re a fan of writing on yellow legal pads, the 12.9 inch iPad Pro with Good Notes is the perfect way to do that.

Unlike the Apple Notes app, handwriting recognition and search actually works in the Good Notes app. And you can easily convert handwritten notes to text. You can import PDFs and annotate them in the app as well.

Ulysses

Ulysses is the best writing app on the iPad. While it’s subscription based, and it might not be worth the price of admission for everyone, full-time writers will get a lot out of this app. It has a gorgeous writing environment and a very sensible interface for managing your documents.

It uses a whole new nomenclature. Documents are called sheets and are stored in a folder. You can easily merge sheets, or move them. Exporting to PDF or Word is just a button press away. But what might be the best thing is Markdown support and keyboard shortcuts for formatting.

PDF Expert

PDF Expert is the best PDF editor on the iPad Pro. The app takes the biggest headache from dealing with PDFs – editing. You can load up any PDF in the app, and just tap on any text box to instantly make it editable. You can change the text, while maintaining everything else – the font size, the spacing, everything.

You can add images, links and edit the font settings as well. If you deal with a lot of PDFs, where you need to approve and change details ever so often, PDF Expert is well worth the 10 dollar asking price.

Download: PDF Expert ($9.99)

Shortcuts

The new iPad Pro ship with iOS 12. And one of the best new productivity features on iOS 12 is Siri Shortcuts. You can use Siri to interact with certain apps. But what’s more interesting is the new Shortcuts app by Apple. You can use this app to create complex workflows where one thing happens after the other. And it can be triggered by simply using your voice!

Google Docs, Sheets and Slides

Best Apps iPad Pro 2018 3

Google Docs works on the iPad. It’s not the best experience but it works. It supports Split View as well. You can open Google Docs documents in the iPad and use it with all the supported features like collaboration and sharing.

It’s the same story for Google Sheets. Here some of the keyboard shortcuts can be really helpful.

And now that the iPad Pro has a USB-C port, you can use it to showcase your Slides presentation without the need for a dongle, or Apple TV.
