iPhone Xs Max frontLiang Chen of Keen Lab has posted a photo on Twitter confirming that he has managed to jailbreak an iPhone XS Max running iOS 12.1. This is the first known jailbreak of iOS 12.1 running on an iPhone XS Max.
Before you get your hopes too high, Leen Lab is not known for releasing its jailbreak to the public so don’t expect a public iOS 12.1 jailbreak anytime soon. They will probably sell their jailbreak to the highest bidder or a private company for millions of dollars. As his tweet mentions, Liang will be demonstrating this jailbreak at POC 2018 this Friday. iOS 12.1 + A12 == the end of iOS war? I will be presenting at POC 2018 this Friday with latest iPhone XS Max pwn. @vangelis_at_POC @keen_lab https://t.co/lCtc1z3p4h pic.twitter.com/XWLDs24zIf — Liang Chen (@chenliang0817) November 6, 2018 While jailbreak fans will be disappointed that Keen Lab will not be making this jailbreak public, it does make it clear that it is possible to jailbreak iOS 12.1. What remains unknown is when another jailbreaker or developers finds an exploit to jailbreak iOS 12.1 and releases it to the public. Usually, exploits used for any possible jailbreak for an iOS version so early into its release cycle is kept secret by jailbreakers and developers. They either sell it to a private company for profit or continue to sit on it for months before releasing a jailbreak tool to the public right when a new iOS release is around the corner. Are you still looking forward to jailbreaking your iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, or iPhone XR? Or have you given up on the jailbreaking scene completely frustrated by the lack of jailbreaks?
