Epic Games’ smash hit, Fortnite, continues to keep feature parity a top priority as it updates the iOS version of the title to reflect the same update on consoles and PC.
On Wednesday, Epic officially announced its latest major event for the Fortnite Battle Royale experience. This one’s called “Fortnitemares 2018”, and it’s a Halloween-themed event that brings with it quite a lot. That includes a special new skin, which will change the more you play. The updated game also includes a new glider, monsters to slay while out on the battlefield, and more.
Epic calls the creatures lumbering around the island “Cube Monsters”, and you will see them pop up as you play. That means players will need to slay the Cube Monsters and loot, while also avoiding the enemy players out there. To help with that, Epic is also including two new weapons: The Six Shooter and the Fiend Hunter Crossbow.
Epic is including a new skin, too. The “Deadfire Outfit” will actually change as you play in a match, depending on how much data you dole out to enemy players and the Cube Monsters. It can change twice, and you can see the latter version of the skin in the picture at the top of this article.
“Make sure you’re lookin’ good while the darkness descends and pick up the new Deadfire Outfit. This new type of reactive outfit features in-match progression, giving you a way to show off your skills in style. The outfit will progress through 2 styles based on the damage you deal enemies (players and AI) and how long you last in a match. Deadfire also comes with the Shackled Stone Back Bling and you can pick up his matching Dark Shard pickaxe in the store, both of these are reactive cosmetics.”
Fortnitemares also introduces the Dark Engine glider (pictured just above), which is accessible if you finish the appropriate challenges within the game.
