Apple Publishes Out-of-Warranty Repair Fees for 2018 iPad Pro

The 2018 iPad Pro was announced earlier today, coming in two variants with different screen sizes.

With the products now officially official, and available to preorder, the company has gone ahead and updated its official support page for out-of-warranty repair prices. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Apple has hiked up the pricing for its newest big-screen tablet devices, but not by much, thankfully. Still, these are the most expensive iPads to date, and they are coupled with the most expensive out-of-warranty repair costs.

For the 2018 11-inch iPad Pro, you will fork over $499 to repair. Meanwhile, the 2018 12.9-inch iPad Pro will cost $649 for out-of-warranty repairs. These are for the issues that aren’t covered by Apple’s standard warranty or by local laws. These prices are also in place if you don’t have Apple’s extra warranty option, AppleCare+.

If you do have AppleCare+, though, repairs for both the 11- and 12.9-inch (3rd Generation) iPad Pro is priced at $49.

From Apple:

“If your iPad issue isn’t covered, you’ll pay an out-of-warranty fee unless your iPad has AppleCare+ coverage. AppleCare+ includes two incidents of accidental damage. You might be able to use one of those incidents for a cracked screen or for other damage to your iPad. Each AppleCare+ incident has a service fee, as shown.”

The cheapest out-of-warranty repair price at the time of publication is the $199 you’ll pay to repair the original iPad mini, or the iPad mini 2. Just slightly more expensive than that, at $249, is the iPad, iPad 2, iPad Air, iPad 5th generation, and iPad 6th generation.
