Unc0ver Jailbreak for iOS 11 – iOS 11.3.1 (iOS 11.4 beta 3) Released

Unc0ver Jailbreak for iOS 11 - iOS 11.3.1 (iOS 11.4 beta 3)

If you had problems jailbreaking iOS 11 with Electra Jailbreak, then we have some good news. Pwn20wnd, a former member of the Electra Jailbreak team has released UnC0ver, which he claims is the most advanced jailbreak tool for iOS 11 – iOS 11.4 beta 3.

The Unc0ver jailbreak tool has been developed by pwn20wnd along with hacker Sam Bingner. The UI has been designed by Dennis Bednarz and Samg_is_a_Ninja.

Unc0ver jailbreak tool supports iOS 11 – iOS 11.4 beta 3, the same as Electra Jailbreak. It also supports all the iOS 11 compatible iPhones and iPads like the Electra Jailbreak. It also includes Cydia which is approved by saurik aka Jay Freeman, the founder of Cydia. It also makes use of Cydia Substrate for tweak injection instead of Substitute, which has been used in the Electra jailbreak.

A reddit user GeoSn0w who has tested unc0ver jailbreak during the development stage provides some interesting feedback about the unc0ver jailbreak:

I was a tester during the development and I have tested both the MPTCP and the VFS methods. The Jailbreak is reliable, has a better Cydia approved by saurik that will not conflict with saurik’s versioning, it does not drain the battery, performs the necessary cleaning itself if you switch from Electra or other tools (so no Rollectra needed) and it has a ton of settings you can mess with for enabling / disabling tweaks, setting NONCEs, etc. It also sports the Cydia substrate.

The source code is Pwn’s with no bits of Electra and this one performs a correct remount, unlike Electra that uses a hfs struct in an apfs mount….

Overall: Switch. It’s well worth it from my testing, at least on iOS 11.3.x where I tested.

If you had trouble jailbreaking iOS 11 – iOS 11.3.1 (iOS 11.4 beta 3), then you could try unc0ver jailbreak to see if you can successfully jailbreak iOS 11 – iOS 11.3.1. If you are facing problems with Electra jailbreak then you could also give unc0ver jailbreak a try.

But If you’ve already jailbroken your iPhone or iPad on iOS 11 – iOS 11.3.1 with Electra Jailbreak, and are not facing any problem, then you may want to avoid it for now.

You can use Rollectra/SemiRestore11 to unjailbreak or remove Electra Jailbreak. You can check our post if you need help to unjailbreak or remove Electra Jailbreak.

You can download the Unc0ver jailbreak IPA from GitHub on your computer. You will need to use Cydia Impactor to sideload the Unc0ver IPA and then run the process to jailbreak your iOS device by following onscreen instructions. We will publish the tutorial to jailbreak iOS 11 – iOS 11.3.1 (11.4 beta 3) using Unc0ver jailbreak shortly, so stay tuned.
