Apple is hosting an event on Tuesday, October 30, which will more than likely see brand new iPad Pro models get announced, along with a new, low-cost MacBook model.
But turns out that Apple may have even more up its sleeve in terms of the iPad lineup, especially when it comes to models with slightly smaller displays. At least, that’s the belief of TF Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The analyst recently released a new note that reiterates his expectations for Apple’s upcoming October event, while also relaying some new information pertaining to the iPad mini lineup.
Kuo expects Apple to update the iPad mini family at some point in the near future. However, Kuo does not believe that it is likely Apple will have the smaller iPad model at the upcoming event. As far as what the new model will bring to the table, Kuo expects Apple to showcase “a new iPad mini equipped with an upgraded processor and a lower-cost panel”. Kuo does not have any additional information.
As for the familiar beats, Kuo states that Apple is going to launch new iPad Pro models next week, with minimized bezels, no Home button, Face ID with the TrueDepth camera system, and updated specs. Kuo also expects there to be the new low-cost notebook model, which may or may not take on the MacBook Air name.
The analyst also expects the other MacBook models, the iMac lineup, and the Mac mini to get updated as well at the event. However, to what degree those models will be upgraded remains unknown.
Apple’s Tuesday event is going to be a busy one. If the company does launch a new iPad mini at some point in the near future, would you consider picking one up?
